We introduce our newest Air Max 1, specially made for Air Max Day 2023. The Brogue inspires the Air Max 1, featuring perforation and serration.
The brogue is a low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterized by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations and serration along the pieces visible edges.

Before we could start on these shoes, we needed to make some designs. We tried many things, but eventually, we decided to keep it as simple as possible. To still spice things up a little, the lining is made of small corduroy with a flower print. The corduroy represents the lining of a Colbert. For the sneaker itself, we used brown vegetable-tanned leather. See some of our designs down below.
After choosing the best design, we could start working on the pattern work. We needed to make new patterns to indicate the perforation place and shape. We tried and made different patterns, which we showcase some below.
Before we show you the pictures of these Gentlemen Air Max 1’s, we want to thank Nikki van Toorn for making these beautiful pictures. We went to Landgoed Huize in Bergen, a local building in The Netherlands, to create content in style.
Landgoed Huize Bergen is a piece of the collective memory of Brabant. More than 1 million people have met here. In 1950 different than today, but always with the intention of leaving richer.
The institute mainly focused on the education of girls and young women to prepare them for their future tasks as adults, but the youth camps of the Dutch Catholic Sports Association were also a household name at Landgoed Huize Bergen.
The objective not only expressed the promotion and facilitation of educational work among young people but also created space for promoting meetings and courses in the religious, charitable, social, and cultural fields.
